General Regulations
1. Visitors
i. Tennis, Squash, Billiards & Bridge
a. The same visitor may not be invited to play the same sport more than three times in any twelve-month period
b. A Member inviting a Visitor to the Club to play must enter the visitor’s details in and sign the Visitor’s Book and pay the visitor fee as set by the Committee, prior to such visitor commencing play.
ii. Dining & Hospitality
a. The same visitor cannot be introduced more than twelve times in any twelve months period by any member or members
b. Members inviting a Visitor to the Club must enter the visitor’s details in and sign the Visitor’s Book prior to such visitor entering the dining and/or hospitality areas
iii. Members must ensure that visitors comply with the Club’s dress and other regulations (as set out hereunder), and accompany their guests at all times while their guests are on the Club’s premises.

2. Dress Codes
i. Tennis Courts
a. a. All members and their guests should wear predominantly white, kathry tennis attire when playing on the Club courts, although some coloured approved tennis attire is permitted.
b. White socks shall be worn whilst playing tennis.
c. Tennis shoes shall be predominantly white in colour.
d. Tennis shoes shall be those designed for tennis. Any shoe that is likely to cause damage to the surface of a tennis court shall not be worn. In particular, no shoe with a ripple or studded sole or with a raised heel shall be worn. Shoes designed for running, jogging or cricket shall not be worn.
e. Male members and guests shall wear a shirt with a collar and sleeves.
f. Leggings and compression clothing (including bicycle shorts and skins) may only be worn under approved tennis attire.
g. Tracksuits, jumpers and vests made for tennis are permitted.
h. No member or guest shall play tennis whilst wearing football, running, jogging, cycling, board, Bermuda, boxer, cargo, golf or walk shorts or leotards.
i. No advertising or lettering is to be visible on clothing excepting for the official KLTC logo or a manufacturer’s logo.
ii. Squash Courts
a. Neat sporting attire appropriate for squash shall be worn.
b. Any shoe that is likely to damage or mark the surface of a squash court shall not be worn.
c. No advertising or lettering shall be visible on clothing except for the official KLTC logo or a manufacturer’s logo.
iii. Billiards Room
a. Smart casual clothing is to be worn.
b. Male members and guests shall wear a shirt with a collar.
c. No caps are permitted.
iv. Gymnasium:
a. Neat sporting attire shall be worn.
b. No caps are permitted.
c. Footwear must be worn at all times.
d. Members must wipe down equipment with a towel after use.
v. Swimming Pool, Spa and Sauna
a. Only apparel designed specifically for swimming must be worn.
b. Wetsuits are not permitted in the swimming pool or spa.
vi. Dining and Hospitality Areas
a. The Racquet Club, The Kooyong Room and Seminar Rooms
i. Smart Casual clothing shall be worn.
ii. Male members and guest shall wear a shirt with a collar.
iii. No caps or men’s hats, men’s sandals or garments with advertising motifs (except as approved for tennis or squash clothing) are permitted anywhere in the Clubhouse.
iv. No sporting or gymnasium attire is permitted.
b. The Hopman Bistro, BBQ Terrace and Member’s Bar:
i. Neat casual clothing or correct tennis attire shall be worn.
ii. Male members and guests shall wear a shirt with a collar.
iii. No caps or men’s hats, men’s sandals or garments with advertising motifs (except as approved for tennis or squash clothing) are permitted anywhere in the Clubhouse.

3. Etiquette and Associated Matters
i. Tennis courts
a. Doubles on grass courts shall take precedence over singles at all times.
b. In the event that there are no vacant courts and members are waiting to play, those playing singles must invite 2 of those Members waiting to join them or vacate the court at the end of the set, or after fifteen minutes, whichever first occurs.
c. In the event that there are no vacant courts and 4 or more members are waiting to play at a court on which a doubles games is being played, those players must vacate that court at the conclusion of the set being played
ii. Billiards Room:
a. A Member waiting for a table must place his or her name next in order on the board provided and the onus is on the Member to claim the table, as it becomes vacant.
b. Inter-club and tournament matches shall take precedence over social play and Members must vacate tables for such matches when requested.
c. During the Pennant Billiards Season, team players have a prior right to the number one table for period of one hour, save for Friday nights.
d. If all tables are in use, and Members are waiting for a table, the table must be vacated at the end of a frame in Snooker or after 30 minutes in Billiards.
e. No food of any kind is to be taken into the Billiards Room.
iii. Gymnasium, Pool, Spa and Sauna
a. Electronic equipment in the gymnasium is limited to 20 minutes use when other Members are waiting.
b. Members must replace weights in their correct storage position after use.
c. Members are not permitted to use, engage or be accompanied by a private trainer in the gymnasium or anywhere else on the Club’s property without the written authority of the Club’s CEO.
d. No food is to be consumed in the gymnasium.
e. Members shall shower before entering the swimming pool, spa or sauna.
f. Members with cuts, wounds and the like shall not use the pool, spa or sauna.
g. Bathers must be worn in the pool, spa and sauna.

4. Car Park and Traffic on Club Grounds
i. The car parks are for members and guests use while using the Club’s facilities only
ii. Cars may only be parked in designated areas and in marked car spaces for a maximum of four hours.
iii. Members and guests must comply with the Kooyong road rules as marked by signage including but not limited to speed limits, one way directions, giving way to pedestrians, and car parking.
iv. Contravention of any of Kooyong’s traffic regulations, including car parking, speeding, traffic direction, parking outside of designated and marked areas, parking while not using the facilities will result in penalties.

5. Applications for Membership
i. A Proposer and Seconder and two Referees must propose an application for Membership.
ii. The Proposer and Seconder must have been Members of the Club (not being a Junior, Temporary, Special or Absentee member) for at least six (6) years and must have known the applicant for not less than three (3) years.
iii. A fee as determined by the Committee is required to be paid upon each proposal for new membership.
iv. Save with the prior consent of the Committee, any person who is an employee of the Club shall not be proposed for membership of the Club.
v. Subject to any contrary determination of the Committee, the personal details of each person proposed for membership of the Club, the names of the Proposer and Seconder, the date of the proposal and the Membership category being applied for shall be recorded by the Club.
vi. The Committee shall notify each person proposed for Membership as to whether or not his or her proposal has been accepted by the the Committee and placed on the waiting list subject to availability of membership positions in the respective categories

6. Transfer between Classes of Membership
i. An application by a member to transfer from one membership class to another may be granted by the Committee upon such terms as it considers appropriate.

7. Late Payment of Subscriptions
i. Late payment of subscriptions will incur a Late Payment Fee of an amount and on the conditions determined by the Committee.

8. Rejoining the Club
i. A person whose Membership has lapsed may apply to rejoin subject to the following:
a. A Member whose membership has lapsed within the previous two years may apply for the same Membership Class held at the time the Membership lapsed.
b. If the application is accepted by the Committee, on payment of the full Subscription fee for that Membership Class for each year, the Member will be reinstated into the Membership Class held at the time the Membership lapsed.

Membership Cards
i. Membership cards are not transferable.
ii. Membership cards shall be carried by members at all times while on the Club’s premises and shall be presented upon request by any member of the staff of the Club or by any member of the Committee.
iii. Lost Membership cards must be reported to the Club’s administration immediately.
iv. A fee will be charged to replace lost cards.

9. Suspended Members
i. A member, whilst under suspension, shall have no entitlement to use any facilities at the Club or to enter the Club’s premises.
ii. A member, whilst under suspension, shall not be on the Club’s premises as a guest of another member.

10. Expelled Members
i. A person who has been expelled as a member of the Club shall not be on the Club’s premises as a guest of a member.

11. Relief from Compliance
i. The Committee may, by notice in writing, relieve a member of his or her obligation to comply with any of these Regulations for such period as the Committee may determine.
ii. Special arrangements for excess visitors and special arrangements may be made with the CEO or his nominee

12. Hours of Operation
i. The hours of operation will be as set and advertised by the Committee.

13. Liquor Service
i. The hours of liquor service will be as determined by the Committee and compliant with the conditions of the Club’s Liquor Licence.

14. General Matters
i. Dogs and other animals are not permitted on any of the Club’s premises or property.
ii. Mobile phones are not permitted to be used in the Clubhouse.
iii. Smoking is not permitted in the clubhouse and only in designated smoking areas.
iv. Smokers must dispose of litter neatly and safely.

Offences to the Rules or Regulations
Any breach of KLTC Rules or Regulations may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Club Rules with penalties involving possible reprimand, fine, suspension or expulsion from the Club.
The penalty for a Member found guilty of transferring his or her Membership card to another person may be expulsion from the Club.
