Kooyong Foundation
There are two main objectives in establishing the Kooyong Foundation.
- Advancing Kooyong
- Advancing tennis in Australia and internationally
In large part, the objectives are compatible, Kooyong is the traditional home of
tennis in Australia and in so many ways, the history of Kooyong is itself a history
of Australian Tennis.
Essential to the success of the Foundation is its capacity to present to individuals
and corporations a framework, which potential benefactors accept as a realistic
means of achieving the objectives.
With these thoughts uppermost, the first of the worthy projects for The Kooyong
Foundation is the establishment of the Australian Tennis Museum At Kooyong.
The Foundation also actively supports junior sporting development by providing sporting
scholarships for junior players as well as developing projects of importance for
Kooyong itself.
We are most fortunate in that two of the all-time greats of world tennis, Frank
Sedgman and Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, share our enthusiasm and have accepted Foundation
Directorships. Both look forward to carrying the Foundation objectives to vast personnel
and international tennis networks.
In summary, The Kooyong Foundation now provides a means by which members and supporters
can direct to Kooyong contributions, bequests or whatever that we know are often
directed else-where simply because Kooyong had no Foundation.
Foundation Directors are readily available for discussion on a discreet and confidential
basis and further information can be obtained by contacting the CEO.
All of us look forward to developing, with your support, a Kooyong contribution
to tennis befitting our history.
Sir Norman Brookes
Society
One of the initiatives undertaken by the Kooyong Foundation has been the establishment
of a bequest program which invites Kooyong members and others to remember Kooyong
in their Will.
You can specify a particular program or fund to which your request can be made or
you can make a request unconditionally for use by the Kooyong Foundation at its
discretion.
Programs and projects for support can include the development of the Australian
Tennis Museum at Kooyong and tennis scholarships for deserving young players.
