The 2014 Kooyong International, to be held at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club on 4 - 6 July, boasts some impressive talent.
This is the third year the event has been staged, coinciding with KLTC's third year of sponsorship of the Victorian Open Squash, and is open to the top four male and female seeded players who enter the Victorian Open. Total prize money of $10,000 is up for grabs as well as the prestige of taking out the coveted trophy.
Players confirmed for the tournament are:
Rachael Grinham - Australian Commonwealth Games Team member, former World No 1 and currently ranked 15 in the world
Donna Urquhart - Australian Commonwealth Games Team member, Australia's No 3 player and currently ranked 25 in the world
Delia Arnold (MAS) - won the KLTC International in 2012, Malaysia's No 3 player and currently ranked 39 in the world
Sarah Cardwell - Australian Commonwealth Games member, Kooyong Club member and currently ranked 55 in the world
Max Lee (HKG) - Hong Kong's No 1 player, currently ranked 25 in the world
Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan (MAS) - Vic Open finalist 2012, Malaysia's No 2 player and currently ranked 39 in the world
Leo Au (HKG) - Hong Kong's No 2 player, 2011 Vic Open Champion, currently ranked 40 in the world
Martin Knight (NZL) - New Zealand's No 2 player, currently ranked 49 in the world
The Kooyong International is a round robin event over three days as follows:
· Friday July 4 - 6.00pm (women's matches), 6.45pm (men's matches)
· Saturday July 5 - 2.00pm (women's matches), 2.45pm (men's matches)
· Sunday July 6 - 2.00pm (women's matches), 2.45pm (men's matches) followed by the Presentations.
